Visiting Friends

Following our excellent stay at Siesta Key, we made our way across Florida to the East coast. The drive across florida ws somewhat surprising in that it ws not the swampy countryside that I expected. there were citrus groves galor as you might expect but also huge horse and cattle ranches. The view was somewhat what I would expect across Texas but was unexpected in Florida. Of course there was the occasional semi with an open trailer briming with oranges.

First, we visited Port St. Lucie to see Alan and Nancy DiRobbio. I have known Alan since elementary school and he was part of our first band. We first visited alan & Nancy in Kentucy seven years ago and they promptly moved to Floriday. Here we are seven years later finally getting around to visiting them again and one of the first things they told us is that they are moving again...I sense a pattern here. Any way, we had a grea time with them as they showed us the highlights of Port St. Lucie. They spend their time boating on the river and waterways of the area and generally enjoying the pleasures of living in Florida. Thanks Alan for putting us up in the driveway.

We next visited cousins that were wintering near Jupiter. Joe and Shirley were house sitting for their daughter and son-in-law that had purchased a retirement home there. It is in a beautiful community with a clubhouse and po0l and well kept grounds. We enjoyed their company at dinner and breakfast. For dinner they brought us to a new chain restaurant called Brio. They are opening a branch in Conneticut and elsewhere. Watch for it...the food was terrific...I recommend the lamb chops. While visiting, we stayed at a beautiful state park (Jonathan Dickinson) locasted just north of Jupiter. They has much to offer and we will return.
