We had heard that the famcamp at Patrick had a lot to offer so we decided to stop over for a night and check it out. When we had called, the hosts were unsure if they could provide a camp site but said they had plenty of overflow area. That was an understatement. They had 30 or more sites in the overflow and most have electrical hookups. However, they did have a site for us when we arrived. The GPS was not as cooperative on this leg. I had put in the coodinates as a reference and when we entered the base, Miles (GPS guy) had us make a turn with the following direction, "...and then drive off road to the destination." This would have brought us across the active runway...not such a good idea...so I followed the road around the runway to the famcamp.
The campground was very nice and the beaches in the area a great. Again, another place to return and spend some time. We met Dave and Sharon from Maine. He is an ex-maintenance superintendent with the "Mainics" from Brunswick. They have a license plate that reads HAVNFUN and that is just what they are doing. They said they were also headed to Mayport, our next destination.
