Mayport NAS

This is our third visit to Mayport. Our last visit was to say goodbye to our then son-in-law Dan as he departed for Iraq. Following that we drove our daughter, Lori, and her daughter , Abby, home to Rhode Island. We really like this campground. They have expanded and improved since our last visit. They have a great beach, free laundry, and the ships passing from the port of Jacksonville. Pat still gets excited with each ship's passing. We agian saw Dave and Sharon that we had met at Patrick. They were late arriving because Dave had tried surfing at Daytona Beach...the hospital stay from his resulting injuries delayed them a bit...nothing serious but it may be the end of his brief surfing career. We spent a great day at the beach...no injuries from reading and swimming, but it was noted that the water is getting colder as we make our way north. Our next stop is Jacksonville but in North Carolina to visit our Marine friends at Camp Lejuene.
