North...To Maine

We have been at home catching up and camping with our Good Sam chapter since our trip down to Florida. This is our first trip this summer and it's to the north woods of Maine. We began with an enjoyable weekend of camping with our club and then headed out on Sunday morning for a two-day trek to Presque Isle, Maine. It was a great day to travel although we drove through a couple of rain showers. They did help to push the humidity out and make for a pleasant evening.
On our way we of course made the obligatory stop at Freeport, Maine, and the L.L. Bean Store. Bought a few things, among which is a Maine fishing license. I was going to get a two-week license but for $13 more, I got it for the whole year...I guess I'll have to come back...darn.
We are camped for the night at the Gardner/Augusta KOA...nice spot that honors military discount equal to their membership discount. This KOA has a great fishing lake that I witnessed a gentleman take a good size bass this evening...I'll have to try it in the morning.
We're about 250 miles from Presque Isle and should be there tomorrow after an easy drive.
